ExCEED selected for Kellogg Foundation Initiative
The ExCEED program, represented by Sharon Gulick and Wendy Harrington, director of BRIDG, has been chosen to participate in the WK Kellogg Foundation's "Rural People, Rural Policy Initiative".  The initiative is designed around six networks, each actively working to advocate rural policy that produces healthy, sustainable communities with widely shared economic prosperity.  Each selected network grantee receives $100,000 from the foundation over a five year period.  The grant amount covers travel and staff time related to participation in the initiative.  Participation involves Peer Learning Sessions, the National Rural Assembly, and Rural Policy Network Meetings.  The purpose of the grant is to build and strengthen rural policy networks as a participating organization in the Rural People, Rural Policy Initiative.

The Community Development Society (CDS) has awarded ExCEED their 2008 Innovative Program Award, which will be presented at their annual conference in Saskatoon, Canada in June.  The award is presented in recognition of ExCEED as a "superior innovative program utilizing the principles of good practice as adopted by the Society."

University of Missouri Extension and ExCEED were awarded the 2006 Community Development Project of the Year by the Missouri Community Development Society at a reception during the 2007 Missouri Community Development Conference.
