Winning Government Contracts: The First Steps

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy - Level 1 - Union (Session 8 of 17)

Stay Strong Stay Healthy is an evidence-based eight-week exercise program for older and sedentary, middle-aged adults. Regional Grazing School - Stockton (Session 2 of 5)

Description:

The Cedar County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), University of Missouri Extension and Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) are working together to put on a regional grazing school in the Stockton area in early October. Presenter for the school will include local MU Extension regional agriculture specialists and NRCS employees. Education topics covered will include various aspects of a grazing system, including development, management and economics of grazing as well as various aspects of livestock management within a grazing system. Information learned from the school should help livestock producers cut cost in their operation through better livestock, grazing and pasture management. In addition to the information gained from the school, people who attend all the sessions of the school will be able to participate in soil and water conservation districts planned grazing system cost-share program. Furthermore, by attending the school it gives a better chance to participate in the NRCS EQIP program, which provides incentives for implemented soil and water conservation practices. The Affordable Care Act (ACA), often referred to as Obamacare, is the most sweeping health-policy change since Medicare was established in 1965. Congress passed the law in 2010, and the Supreme Court declared it to be constitutional in 2012. If you buy a plan in the Health Insurance Marketplace, you may get help from the government to pay for your premiums. The amount of help you get, called a premium tax credit, is based on how much money you earn in a year. Free workshops to help you keep control of family finances while you are laid off are available at Missouri Career Centers, statewide. Managing and budgeting your bills and your money until a new job opportunity appears is less stressful when you have a plan. The workshops will be taught by University of Missouri Extension Family Financial Education instructors. Topics include; How to track your spending and how to develop a budget; How to cut expenses • HOPE NOW mortgage services that can help you keep ownership of your home; How to prioritize debts and how to maintain good relations with creditors; Understanding health insurance coverage options; How to avoid debt and credit scams that target unemployed victims; How to identify resources in your community that can help you save money Learning more about these topics will help relieve financial strain on you and your family while you are unemployed or underemployed.
