Johnson County Livestock Activities (Session 26 of 26)
When: Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, 8 a.m. to noon
Johnson County Fairgrounds
Johnson County large animal livestock shows (beef, sheep, swine, dairy, lead line, goat, horse, auction, carcass contest,jackpot show); weigh-ins for beef, sheep, goats, and swine; and committee meetings. Also includes the small animal committee meetings and small animal shows (rabbit, poultry, dog, cat, buck calf).

To participate in the livestock shows 4-H and FFA members must complete pre-registration form by July 1 for the Johnson County fair.
MU Extension "Farm Page of the Air" radio program (Session 203 of 261)
When: Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, 9 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.
Radio station KWTO
This radio program is intended to educate viewers on a wide range of topics related to gardening in the Ozarks. Morris Westfall conducts the interview with Patrick Byers, MU Extension-Greene County regional horticulture specialist. The program airs several times on Saturday and Sunday on radio stations KWTO, KTXR, and KBFL.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training
When: Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, 9 a.m. to Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, noon

A Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training will be held in February that is open to all interested adults and teens. Through this program you'll learn about emergency preparedness and basic disaster response skills, such as how to operate a fire extinguisher, light search and rescue, emergency medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
The three-day program will be held Feb. 4, 9:00 to 3:00; Feb. 11, 9;00 to 3:00, and Feb. 18, 9:00 to noon (this final day is a disaster simulation exercise).

Southeast 4-H Regional Energizer
When: Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Southeast 4-H Regional Energizer gives 4-H members ages 8-18 the opportunity to meet other 4-Her's in the Southeast Region and have fun!
There will be workshops for ages 8-12 about Poison Look-A-Like and Bubbles while ages 13-18 will have Food for Thought and Marketing 4-H workshops. There will be presentations about robotics and Heifer Ranch as well. Dinner is provided and the night will end with a dance and movie starting at 7:00 pm.
All profits from this event will go to Kids Helping Kids.

Hatching Chicks-Embryology (Session 1 of 6)
When: Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, 2:30 p.m. to Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, 4:30 p.m.
The program is a way to get a hands on learning experience in your educational setting. You will be given an incubator, supplies, and live eggs and you will be responsible for hatching them out and their first few days of life.
