    Description:

    Community needs assessments may identify a need that requires a policy, system or environmental (PSE) change to be made to impact the larger community rather than individual educational efforts. PSE strategies is a global term for a number of strategies that can be implemented all with the long term goal of improving the overall health of the community.

    Annual Pomme De Terre Beekeepers Workshop

    When:  Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    Description:

    This workshop is an all day event covering all aspects of beginning beekeeping for the first time beekeeper. Topics may include but not be limited to Beehives and needed equipment, ordering and installing bees, bee needs, spring and fall bee management /care, bee diseases/problems, catching wild swarms, etc. If you were ever interested in starting honey bees this workshop is for you.

    If you were ever interested in beekeeping this workshop is for you. Topics mai include but not be limited to Beehives and needed equipment, Getting started with bees, Installing your bees, catching wild bees, bee disorders and problems, spring anf fall bee management, etc.

    Flower Production Workshop

    Description:

    Flower production and marketing is a growth industry in Missouri. This class will discuss selection of the right mix of profitable cut and dried flowers, flower production, harvest and handling, and marketing. Hands-on activities will center on the flowers. The workshop is sponsored by Springfield Community Gardens, and instructors include Patrick Byers (MU Extension) and Kimby Decker (Millsap Farm). The workshop is free and open to the public.

    Millsap Farm Tour
