    2020 Neighborhood Leadership Fellows (Session 4 of 18)

    Description:

    The mission of Neighborhood Leadership Fellows (NLF) is to increase and amplify the voices of North St. Louis City and County residents at the civic decision-making tables in order to produce more equitable regional policies for neighborhoods. The primary geographic focus area is neighborhoods within the St. Louis Promise Zone due to the well-documented need for more targeted investment.
    9 months of curriculum and 100+ participation hours.

    East Central 4-H Regional Energizer

    Northwest Regional Energizer 2020

    Description:

    MU Extension 4-H youth development faculty and staff collaborate with partners to address youth and family issues in the community. Rather than providing programs or services directly to an individual young person, the focus is upon influencing systems — people, programs, policies and services that impact the lives of young people and their families.

    The Northwest Regional Energizer is an opportunity for youths and their families to explore project interests, receive training for SMQA and volunteer orienation, and interact with other 4-H families in the Northwest region. Participants may select from over 60 different workshop topics.

    4-H members and registered/certified volunteers should register via their 4HOnline profile. 4-H parents and youths not currently enrolled in 4HOnline should use Cvent for registration.

    Focus on Kids, Union, Mo.

    Description:

    Court ordered parenting class to help divorced and separated parents learn how to support their children through the divorce process and how to work together in co-parenting their children.  Focus on Kids satisfies the Missouri law that requires parents who are divorcing or filing a motion to modify the original divorce decree, or who have never been married but have filed a child custody case, to attend an educational parenting program.

    Focus on Kids is the Court mandated class for parents involved in custody cases where minor age children are involved.

    The science behind food preservation, specifically preserving jams and jellies, plus a hands on opportunity to make and take home Red Wine Jelly. Taught by Robin Gammon, RD and Liz Harrison, MPH, MU Extension Nutrition and Health Education Specialists
