Stay Strong, Stay Healthy- Greene County (Session 9 of 11)

The "Stay Strong, Stay Healthy" program was developed by Tufts University and is designed to help middle-aged and older adults improve strength, flexibility, and balance. According to research conducted by Tufts, strength training improves bone density, can help reduce falls, improves arthritis symptoms, and increases flexibility in middle-aged and older adults and can lead to a healthier, more active lifestyle.
Participants will do warm-up exercises for about 5 minutes. They will do 8 simple strengthening exercises that can be done with or without weights. Cool down stretches will be done at the end of the session.
Pre-registration by Wednesday February 27 is required. Please call the Greene County Extension office at 417-881-8909 to register.

The Greene County Extension Council is comprised of 16 publicly elected council members and 4 appointed members who work with MU Extension specialists to provide the county educational program, manage finances of local MU Extension operations, provide personnel to carry out MU Extension activities locally and organize the annual public election of MU Extension council members. more...
Specific items for this month’s meeting are posted on the Greene County Extension Center website under council business. Meetings are held to approve bills, plan programs and vote on policy related to the local county extension office.
