Supervision 101 Workshop
It makes sense to hire front-line staff into supervisory positions. They have the technical skills you are looking for, and it’s motivational to all employees and reduces the hiring costs. Often times though, these employees lack the supervisory, management and leadership skills necessary to thrive in their new roles. Developed by Missouri Training Institute and presented by the Small Business & Technology Development Centers, Supervision 101 provides training in the basic skills needed by front-line supervisors. Designed for new or recently promoted supervisors, it is also suitable for current supervisors needing refresher training, individuals looking to be promoted into supervisory positions, and small business owners wanting to develop their own skills. The six-hour course topics are: defining your supervisory role, planning work, delegation, motivating employees, evaluation and follow-up and conflict. Each topic includes a combination of lecture, discussion and exercises. Taught in two sessions, students must attend both.
Supervision 101 provides training in the basic skills needed by front-line supervisors. Designed for new or recently promoted supervisors, it is also suitable for current supervisors needing refresher training. This is the second session.
