FastTrac® GrowthVenture™ is targeted to existing businesses who want to develop a plan for growing their companies. Hindsight is 20/20, so use that to create a framework and a plan to improve your business performance. In this course, you are an active participant working on your own business strategy. Facilitators are knowledgeable entrepreneur practitioners who are attuned to the issues that influence the decisions you make about your company, making the program meaningful by applying this knowledge to your business. On-going coaching enables you to access one-on-one input to continue to move your business forward even after the program has ended.

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy - Albany Aug-Oct, 2017 (Session 12 of 16)

Description:

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy is an eight-week strength training program for middle-aged and older adults. The program’s goal is to improve health and quality of life. The class will meet twice a week.

We will incorporate warm-up exercises; simple strengthening exercises, with or without weights; and cool down stretches. Weights are provided for the class. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Bring water bottle and towel.

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy - Level 2 - Sedalia (Session 11 of 16)

Description:

Missouri's Stay Strong, Stay Healthy (SSSH) program is designed to increase independent living older adults; access to a safe structured, and effective strength training program. Stay Strong, Stay Healthy- Level 2 is a follow-up to Level 1. It is for those who want to challenge themselves a bit more! Over eight weeks, participants learn exercises to improve strength, flexibility and balance. At each session, a prescribed set of eight to 10 upper and lower body strengthening exercises are done along with warm-up and cool-down stretches. In order to enroll in the Stay Strong, Stay Healthy Level 2 program, you must have completed the Stay Strong, Stay Healthy-Level 1 program at least twice. Participants are made to feel comfortable and are encouraged to gradually build the strength beneficial to health. All equipment is provided.

Session topic:

Participants will complete a short warm-up, 8-10 strength training exercises, and a cool-down that includes stretching and deep breathing.

Description:

This is a low-impact strength training program for people who are 50 or better. The class meets for 1 hour, twice a week for 8 weeks to complete a series of eight exercises with a warm-up and cool down. This program helps participants increase their physical activity which may improve strength, balance and flexibility, resulting in reduced risk for falls, better overall health and greater independence.

Mental Health First Aid: Military Members, Veterans and their Families

When:  Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Description:

While military service often fosters resilience in individuals and families, some may experience mental health or substance use challenges. It is essential that our communities be prepared to identify and support the more than 22 million veterans and their families who have served our country. Mental Health First Aid is a way to increase the level of baseline knowledge about mental health and substance use concerns and, if necessary, to help individuals get connected to care.
