Master Gardeners of Greene County Plant Sale

Beginning at 7:30 a.m. rain or shine, the annual Master Gardeners of Greene County plant sale attracts thousands of area gardeners. Most plants are priced from $2 to $5, and some extraordinary specimens are $20.
In addition to perennials and vegetables, the inventory includes house plants, herbs, bulbs, grasses, vines, ground covers, shrubs and trees, potted up and donated from Master Gardener gardens.

The Taking Care of YOUth Conference is a conference planned by a parenting coalition with the Community Caring Council. Parents will find playful approaches to learning about children. Concurrent sessions on professional behavior and ethics, autism, recognizing abuse and neglect, and introduction of Love and Logic Parenting Model.

Barton County 4-H Livestock Judging Day

The 4-H members learn more about livestock project areas, public speaking, and individual reasoning by participating in this activity. 4-H members had the opportunity to judge, and place eight classes of livestock, which included market steers & heifers, market sheep & ewes, market goats, and nannies and market hogs & gilts. The contest was completed by youth given oral reasons on Market steers and Market hogs. This event is a qualifying event for SW Regional Achievement Day and State 4-H Livestock Judging

Morris Westfall conducts the interview with Patrick Byers, MU Extension-Greene County regional horticulture specialist.
