The annual Hickory County Agriculture Conference is scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the McCarty Senior Center in Wheatland. Registration begins at 5:45 p.m. followed by dinner and the evening program.
Speakers include Wesley Tucker discussing “5 Keys to Profitability in Beef Cattle Operations” and Gene Schmitz discussing “Alternative Forage for Beef Cattle”. Additional topics for the evening include updates from the Farm Service Agency by Rick Lightfoot, Natural Resources Conservation Service by Gorman Bennett and the Hickory County Soil & Water Conservation District by Duane Mackey.
The conference is being sponsored by Bank of Urbana, Boliver and Weaubleau Farmer’s Exchange, the Hickory County Commissioners and the Hickory County Extension Council. Additional sponsors are also being solicited.
