Almost every home contains hazardous products. They are used in cleaning, home improvement projects, automobile maintenance, lawn and garden care, and variety of other tasks. In order to protect our heath and the environment, we must know how to properly use, store and dispose of these products. A grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources through an Ozark Rivers Solid Waste Management District grant program to the Meramec Regional Planning Commission and the Cities of St. Robert and Rolla will bring such information to share with you. Residents in the Ozark Rivers district which includes Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington Counties can drop off their HHW materials by appointment at no charge at the City of Rolla Recycling Center and the St. Robert Recycling Center. The Cities of Rolla and St. Robert operate the drop off centers for the district and the district grant pays for disposal cost of the HHW. More details on the program will be shared at the presentation session”. The presenters are Jay Whitaker, manager of St. Robert Transfer Station and Recycling Center and Nongluk “Lucky” Tunyavanich, Environmental Programs Specialist, Meramec Regional Planning Commission. Join us Tuesday August 19th 6pm at Municipal Center in St. Robert 194 Eastlawn Ave. St. Robert, MO 65583
