    Produce Food Safety in Community Gardens - SCG Zone 1 CFP Workshop

    Description:

    Produce food safety in the community garden is a series of small steps that lead to an important goal – produce that is safe for us to eat. Today’s class will discuss the gardening practices that impact produce food safety – the health and hygiene of the people who work in the garden or on the farm, the safe use of soil amendments, managing animals to reduce risk, using water safely, and sanitation during production/harvest/handling of fruits and vegetables. The class will discuss training programs for garden leadership, volunteer coordinators, and gardeners.
