Windows 8 Training Workshop

Windows 8 has a new look with the Start Screen replacing the Start Menu, and new navigating tools called Apps and Charms. Attendees will learn to navigate the Start Screen by finger or using the mouse. Participants will learn how to customize the start screen and use the existing desktop. This workshop educates participants on new terms “Charms”, “Apps,” and “Hot Corners” and how they are used in Windows 8. Also the workshop will include moving Apps on the Start Screen, adding Apps and finding new Apps in the App Store. It will also cover “Why do we need a Microsoft Account?” and Using Microsoft Live.
Workshop registration needs to be done by November 11, 2013 by calling the Cedar County MU Extension Center at 417 – 276 – 3313 or by email at email@example.com.
The cost of the workshop is $20/per participant and needs to be paid prior to November 11th. Attendees need to bring their laptop with Windows 8. Let us know at that time if you need any special accommodations.
