A Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training will be held in February that is open to all interested adults and teens. Through this program you'll learn about emergency preparedness and basic disaster response skills, such as how to operate a fire extinguisher, light search and rescue, emergency medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
The three-day program will be held Feb. 4, 9:00 to 3:00; Feb. 11, 9;00 to 3:00, and Feb. 18, 9:00 to noon (this final day is a disaster simulation exercise).
