State extension council

Register now for Legislative Day on Feb. 25

The 2015 Legislative Day at the State Capitol is rapidly approaching. On Feb. 25, we will once again converge on Jefferson City to thank our legislators for their support of the University of Missouri — and of MU Extension. Legislative Day affords us the opportunity to meet one-on-one with those whom we have elected, to let them hear your concerns, share examples of ways we are impacting lives and driving the economy, inform them about what we are doing in the urban areas and educate the elected officials on the programs they might not be familiar with yet. But we can’t do it alone! We need representatives from across our state, from all of our counties, regions and programs, to effectively reach those who need to hear our message.

Online registration is now open at for volunteers and through WebApps for extension employees participating in the ISE. In order to plan for your participation, it is imperative that you register as soon as you are able and no later than Feb. 18 (after which date we can’t provide lunches for everyone).

For 100 years MU Extension has been devoted to improving the lives of Missourians. We take seriously our mission to disseminate the teachings and research of our great university — and now more than ever, we need to raise our collective voices in Jefferson City. Please commit to investing in education by making plans to lend your voice to ours.

See you Feb. 25 at the Capitol.

~ Ed Mobley, MU Extension State Council and recruitment chairman for Legislative Day 2015.
