Nodaway County Youth Program Input Survey

The Nodaway County Extension Council is asking for your input into programs and opportunities you would like to see happening for Nodaway County youth and families.  As we move forward with the 4-H and youth program, and with the addition of a YPA position, we want to know how best to serve our families.

“The core duties of MU Extension faculty are to: Educate, Create, and Connect.”  By taking time to fill out the enclosed survey, your family will help us EDUCATE using knowledge generated by the University to support community goals; CREATE programs and services resulting in learning that positively impacts communities; and CONNECT by engaging with learners and communities, and intentionally fostering diversity and inclusiveness.

We thank you for your time and input.  If you have questions or would like additional information, please contact or Annette Deering, 4-H youth development specialist, or Randa Doty, ag business specialist and Nodaway county program director, at the Nodaway County Extension Center, phone 660-582-8101.

4-H

Youth ages 8 to 18 are enrolled as 4-H members, and youth ages 5 to 7 are enrolled as Clover Kid members. Membership is determined by the child’s age as of January 1 of the current program year. While the 4-H program year runs from October 1 to September 30 families are welcome to enroll at any time.

The Nodaway County 4-H program maintains an enrollment of approximately 225 youth members and 70 adult volunteers. Youth members join one of the eight 4-H Clubs and attend monthly meetings. Within their club, the youth complete 4-H projects, led by trained adult volunteers. Families are welcome to choose a 4-H Club that best fits their needs and interests.

To find out more information about the Nodaway County 4-H program, or to enroll as a youth member or as an adult volunteer, please contact Annette Deering, 4-H Youth Development Specialist, or Dana Auffert, Youth Program Associate by calling the Nodaway County Extension Center at 660-582-8101, or by emailing Annette at DeeringA@missouri.edu or Dana at auffertd@missouri.edu.
