CAMDENTON, Mo. – Next March, University of Missouri Extension in Camden County will host “#Elevate: An Empowering Experience for Women,” a free, one-day event offering educational sessions, a keynote luncheon, health screenings and an exhibit hall featuring vendors and services specifically for women.

“The premise behind creating #Elevate is that education helps all women elevate our minds, bodies and souls,” said event organizer Ashley Brown, an MU Extension field specialist in regional economic development. “The event committee is made up of several dynamic female leaders, and they have planned a full day of equal parts inspiring educational sessions and an incredible exhibit hall.”

#Elevate is intended to provide exposure to as many free, supportive, and educational services as possible, Brown said. It will feature concurrent sessions on self-care, managing stress, financial fitness and more. Free health screenings will be provided courtesy of MU Health Outreach, Policy and Education (HOPE), Lake Regional Health Systems and Central Ozarks Medical Center.

“Finding work-life balance can be challenging,” said Jennifer Bethurem, vice president of public affairs for Lake Regional Health System and member of the Camden County Extension Council. “#Elevate will offer women practical tools for living their best life, personally and professionally. Mark your calendars now, and plan to bring a friend.”

#Elevate will take place at March 2, 2024, at the Lodge of the Four Seasons in Lake Ozark. The free event is open to women of all ages. For more information or to sponsor, exhibit or volunteer, go to https://bit.ly/Elevate4Women or contact Ashley Brown at allen-browna@missouri.edu.
